Jam Thumbprint Cookie Recipe
•Posted on June 20 2023
My Godmother loves these cookies! She just retired from 38 years in teaching! To celebrate I made her a batch of these beauties!
They're super easy to make and only have seven ingredients! They're also incredibly delicious!
You can watch the video on instagram here.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup (227 g) unsalted butter, (2 sticks), softened
- 6 ounces (170.1 g) cream cheese
- 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups (281.25 g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 12 ounces (340.2 g) jam, (strawberry or raspberry work great!)
INSTRUCITONS:
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, cream cheese, and sugar together on medium-high speed until light and fluffy.
- Add the vanilla until incorporated. Beat until well combined.
-
In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms. Be careful not to overmix.
-
Shape the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place the balls onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each cookie.
-
Using your thumb or the back of a teaspoon, make an indentation in the center of each cookie. Make sure not to press too deeply; you want to create a well for the jam but keep the shape intact.
-
Fill each indentation with about 1/2 teaspoon of fruit jam or preserves. You can use one type of jam or mix and match flavors.
-
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the cookies for approximately 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
-
Once baked, remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes. Then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
-
Enjoy your delicious thumbprint cookies! Store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
That's it! Follow these instructions, and you'll have a batch of tasty thumbprint cookies to enjoy. Happy baking!
Celebrating with my Godmother on her last day teaching!
